What primarily concerns me in my works is the presence of things. I wonder why certain objects attract us and why we like shapes in nature.

What is characteristic of my works is the silence and the initially seemingly empty space that surrounds the forms. On closer inspection, it is this space that includes the abundance and presents an answer to the objects facing. My goal is to embed a soul in my works.

The objects and shapes that can be seen in my work mostly come across in everyday life. I am not consciously looking for it. It is rather a certain feeling that causes me to put one or two objects on paper. Everyday things that get my attention are usually quiet and inward. They seem familiar to me and seem unaffected. They are deliberately reserved, but not without a certain presence. I deeply appreciate these things and they can easily coexist with a noisy and bubbling environment.
